Grandma M's Norwegian Sweet Soup

1 cup Pitted dried prunes

1 cup Dried apricots

¼ cup Raisens

½ lemon sliced nice and thin

3 - 4 cinnamon sticks (optional)

¼ cup sugar

3 tbsp quick cooking tapioca

1 cup Pared cubed apples
Combine all ingredients except apples and cinnamon sticks in 3 qt saucepan and add 6 cups water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 min or until fruit is tender and tapioca is cooked - stirring occasionally.
Add apple cubes and cinnamon sticks. Simmer covered until apple is cooked (about 5 min), remove cinnamon.
Serve warm or cold
